COMPREHENSIVE RETURNS, REFUNDS, EXCHANGES & WARRANTY POLICY
1. INTRODUCTION
This Returns, Refunds, Exchanges and Warranty Policy ("Policy") governs all purchases made from DJC Electronics ("the Company", "we", "our", "us") through our website, social media platforms, online marketplaces, telephone sales, email orders, WhatsApp orders and physical collection points.
This Policy forms part of our Terms and Conditions and should be read together with our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy and Warranty Policy.
Nothing contained in this Policy limits, excludes or waives any mandatory consumer rights provided under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 ("CPA"), the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 ("ECT Act"), POPIA or any other applicable South African legislation.
2. DEFINITIONS
For purposes of this Policy:
Business Day means Monday to Friday excluding South African public holidays.
Customer means any individual or juristic person purchasing products from DJC Electronics.
Defect means a material manufacturing fault as contemplated under the Consumer Protection Act.
Goods means all products supplied by DJC Electronics.
Return Authorisation (RA) means the official approval issued by DJC Electronics before goods may be returned.
Original Condition means substantially the same condition in which the goods were delivered including packaging, manuals, accessories, labels, seals and protective films where applicable.
3. RETURN AUTHORISATION REQUIREMENT
No product may be returned without a valid Return Authorisation (RA) number issued by DJC Electronics.
Returns received without prior approval may:

Be refused;

Be returned to the sender at the customer's expense;

Incur additional handling fees.
Approval to return goods does not automatically constitute approval for a refund, replacement or exchange.
Final approval is subject to inspection.
4. GENERAL RETURN CONDITIONS
All returns must:
• Include proof of purchase.
• Include the original invoice.
• Include every accessory originally supplied.
• Include charging cables, adapters, manuals and warranty cards.
• Include promotional items supplied free with the purchase.
• Include original packaging where reasonably possible.
• Have matching serial numbers and IMEI numbers.
• Not have damaged or removed serial number stickers.
• Not be blacklisted or reported stolen.
• Not have security labels removed.
Failure to comply may result in the return being declined.
5. PRODUCT INSPECTION
Every returned product undergoes an extensive inspection which may include:

Inspection periods generally range between 7 and 21 business days, however complex manufacturer assessments may take longer.
6. CHANGE OF MIND RETURNS
DJC Electronics does not ordinarily accept returns due to:

Change of mind

Incorrect colour selected

Incorrect model selected

Better price found elsewhere
-
Product no longer required
-
Customer ordered incorrectly
Where DJC Electronics elects to accept such returns, the following conditions apply:

Return request within 7 calendar days.

Goods must be unopened.

Factory seals must remain intact.

Product must never have been activated.
-
Product must never have been installed.
-
Product must never have been paired with another device.
-
Product must never have been registered with the manufacturer.

Product packaging must be undamaged.
Approved returns may attract:

Restocking fees

Administration fees

Courier charges

Payment gateway charges where legally permissible

Collection charges
The original shipping charge is non-refundable.
7. PRODUCTS THAT CANNOT BE RETURNED

8. DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS
If a product develops a manufacturing defect within six months of delivery, customers may exercise their statutory rights under the CPA.
The Company reserves the right to inspect, diagnose and verify the alleged defect before determining the appropriate remedy.
Where a manufacturing defect is confirmed, the Company may, in accordance with applicable law:

Repair the product;

Replace the product with the same or equivalent product;

Refund the purchase price.
Where no defect is found, the customer shall remain liable for all inspection, courier and handling costs where permitted by law.
9. EXCLUSIONS FROM WARRANTY
Warranty claims shall be rejected where damage results from:

Liquid ingress

Humidity
-
Corrosion

Rust
-
Lightning
-
Power surges
-
Incorrect voltage

Incorrect chargers

Improper installation

User negligence

Abuse

Physical impact
-
Drops

Cracked displays

Cosmetic damage

Burn marks
-
Fire damage

Flood damage

Animal damage

Pest damage

Unauthorised repairs

Third-party modifications

Rooting or jailbreaking

Firmware flashing

Software corruption

Malware

Viruses

Commercial use exceeding product specifications

Failure to follow manufacturer instructions

Normal wear and tear
10. DEAD ON ARRIVAL (DOA)
Products reported within 7 days of delivery may qualify as DOA.
DOA status shall only apply after confirmation by DJC Electronics or the manufacturer.
Products exhibiting customer damage shall not qualify.
11. RETURN SHIPPING
Customers are responsible for all return courier costs unless:

incorrect goods were supplied;
-
the goods are confirmed defective;
-
legislation requires DJC Electronics to bear such costs.
The Company is not responsible for parcels lost in transit when customers arrange their own courier.
Customers are encouraged to insure returned parcels.
12. RISK OF LOSS
Risk passes to the customer upon delivery.
Customers must inspect goods immediately upon receipt.
Visible damage must be reported within 24 hours.
Incorrect items must be reported within 48 hours.
Missing items must be reported within 48 hours.
Failure to notify DJC Electronics within these periods may prejudice the customer's claim where permitted by law.
13. REFUND METHOD
Refunds shall ordinarily be processed using the original payment method.
DJC Electronics reserves the right to request:

Proof of banking details

Identity verification

Proof of ownership

Anti-fraud verification
Cash refunds will not be issued for EFT purchases.
14. FRAUD PREVENTION
DJC Electronics reserves the right to refuse any claim involving:

False information

Stolen products
-
Blacklisted IMEI numbers

Swapped devices
-
Altered serial numbers

Forged invoices
-
Payment fraud
-
Chargeback abuse

Identity fraud

Return fraud

Multiple suspicious returns

Deliberate misuse
Fraudulent conduct may be reported to financial institutions, insurers and law enforcement agencies.
15. DATA LOSS
Customers are solely responsible for backing up all personal information before returning any electronic device.
DJC Electronics accepts no responsibility for:

Deleted photographs

Contacts
-
Messages
-
Emails
-
Applications
-
Software
-
Settings
-
Cloud accounts
-
Passwords
Repairs may require factory resetting the device.
16. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, DJC Electronics shall not be liable for:

Consequential damages

Indirect damages

Special damages

Third-party claims

Our maximum liability shall not exceed the purchase price paid for the affected product except where prohibited by law.
17. FORCE MAJEURE
DJC Electronics shall not be liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

Fires

Epidemics

Civil unrest

Riots

Labour strikes

Government restrictions

Import delays

18. DISPUTE RESOLUTION
Customers are encouraged to first contact DJC Electronics to resolve any dispute amicably.
Where a dispute cannot be resolved, either party may pursue any remedies available under applicable South African law.
19. POLICY AMENDMENTS
DJC Electronics reserves the right to amend this Policy at any time without prior notice.
The version published on our website at the time of purchase shall apply unless otherwise required by law.

LEGAL NOTICE
This Policy is intended to operate alongside, and not in substitution for, the mandatory protections afforded to consumers under the Consumer Protection Act, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, POPIA, and any other applicable South African legislation. Where any provision of this Policy conflicts with mandatory law, the relevant legislation shall prevail to the extent of the conflict.
